Legislate organises contract parties in two sides: the first and the second.

If you are creating a contract for yourself or are on the contract creator's side then you will be on the first side.

In this article you will learn how to add a person or a person with a signatory to the first side of a contract.

Please note that the first side can be labelled in different ways depending on the nature of the contract. For example, in Lodger Licence Agreement the first side is a LICENSOR, in the Tenancy Amendment Letter it is LANDLORD, etc.

The contract we will use as an example will be a Non-Disclosure Agreement where the first side is the DISCLOSER.

The first step is to create a contract you need and save the terms. Then you will be able to add people to your agreement.

To add a party to your side click ADD DISCLOSER.

Choose an option you need:

  • The Discloser will sign the contract (where the Discloser is a person or a group of people)

  • A signatory will sign on the Discloser's behalf (where the Discloser is a person or a company)

After this step, fill in the information of the Discloser. In the case where the Discloser has a signatory, it's mandatory to provide the information of both.

Check if the information is correct.

You can invite a signatory at this moment or do it later.

Perfect! Now we have our first party added to the contract.
